Beginner
A1-A2 / JLPT N5-N4
Greetings, numbers, ordering, asking for directions and talking about yourself. You say real sentences out loud in your first lesson, and in Japanese you start on the basic scripts.

Before your first lesson
What to have ready.
A camera and a microphone
A laptop, tablet or phone that can join a video call. Your tutor needs to see and hear you.
Headphones
They make it easier to catch sounds clearly, which helps a lot with new words.
A quiet spot
Somewhere you feel comfortable speaking out loud for the whole lesson.
Something to write with
A notebook or a notes app for new words, phrases and anything you want to ask next time.
Your reason for learning
A trip, a job, family or a JLPT level. Tell your tutor, and lessons are planned around it.

How do I know which level to choose?
You don't need to know before you book. Tell us roughly what you can already say and understand, and your tutor checks your level during the trial lesson.
How long is each lesson?
The trial is a 25-minute lesson, and the sample packages are made of 50-minute lessons. If you are not sure which length suits you, ask when you book.
Do I have to live in Denver?
No. We are based in Denver, but every lesson is online, so you can join from anywhere. Times are shown in Mountain Time, and we will help you find one that works where you are.
Can a package be set up differently?
The packages on this page are samples. It depends on what you need, so tell us when you book and we will tell you what we can offer before anything starts.
